Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #138 "Punch It"

For our challenge this week at Stamptacular Sunday, you will create a card or project that uses at least one punch. To help make it even easier, you are also free to use any sort of die or cutting machine, such as a Cuttlebug, Spellbinders or a Cricut, for this week’s challenge. Be creative, use any theme, but please don’t forget to stamp.  We are STAMPtacular after all!

Here is my design team card for some inspiration:
I haven't used my Copics a whole lot lately, so I chose this image, "Red Cardinal" by Delicious Doodles, to color for this challenge.  I knew I wanted to do a vintagey tag, so I sized my print to fit my new, favorite Spellbinders Label Twenty, for my main element.

I started with Pine Needles Distress Ink and swiped it over a crumpled manilla tag.  A spritz of dazzling diamonds Glimmer Mist gave me a beautiful, icy look that I also used on my image.  It still needed more definition, so I brushed on a layer of a coppery Glimmer Glam. That sealed the deal for me!

I had seen Tim Holtz' Sizzix die set of twigs and pine cones, so I decided to create my own.  I used my Silhouette to cut out the pine branches.  I wanted to use the new Holiday Distress Inks, so I took the Iced Spruce and swiped it over them. I made a pine cone using a MFT Mini Rolled Rose. I used Frosted Lace Stickles on the branches and pine cone to give them that snowy, icy look.

To finish off the tag, I added pearls I painted with a cardinal colored Copic, a pair of numbers from Thickers, and a punched-out snowflake. I used corrugated cardboard sprayed with Glimmer Mist on the snowflake and finished that with a pearl.  I took a piece of silk ribbon and tied a bow to the top of the tag.

One final note - after I took my picture of this tag, the phone rang.  We looked all over the house for the phone.  It took two days to find it.  DH finally did - it was behind the tag, propping it up for its photo!  Go figure!

Don't forget to check out the cards from the other Design Team ladies. They are AMAZING!
